Drunken Hoosier Passed Out in Burger King Drive-Thru: Cops

The drunken woman started dancing to the music on her car stereo after a cop woke her up, police said.

A drunken Indiana woman found passed out behind the wheel in the drive-thru of a Tinley Park Burger King started dancing to the music on her car stereo when a cop finally woke her up, police said.

Maryah Gross, 26, slept through both a Burger King employee and a cop trying to wake her by rapping on her car window, police said, but came to when the officer shined his flashlight in her face.

“The driver woke up but refused to open the door or the window (and) the driver began to dance in her vehicle,” police said. “The driver used her hand and gestured with her pointer finger to ‘hold on’ and opened her driver side door, stuck her head out of the vehicle and began to vomit.”

An officer said he could hear “loud music coming from inside the vehicle” even before Gross opened the door and threw up.

An employee reportedly called the cops when he discovered Gross unresponsive in her red 2014 Hyundai Accent. The car was idling next to the drive-thru speaker, police said.

Gross blew a 0.161 on a blood-alcohol test, police said, more than doubling the legal limit. She also allegedly had a half-full bottle of wine from Cooper’s Hawk on the passenger seat and thought she was in Markham.

Gross was charged with driving under the influence.
