Fugitive Rats Out Mom, Friend In Retail Theft: Warrant
"If I'm going down, they're going down with me," woman allegedly told police.
TINLEY PARK, IL -- An Iowa woman who allegedly went on a shoplifting spree is wanted on a warrant for retail theft. Tinley Park police were in court seeking an arrest warrant for Jasmine Dumas, 25, who with two accomplices, one of them her mother, allegedly filling hampers with clothing at a local store on Dec. 9, 2018.
Dumas entered Burlington in Tinley Park along with another woman. The women were empty-handed when they entered the store, the detective said. Dumas and her friend were spotted allegedly taking hampers from the home goods department and filling them with over $1,000 worth of clothing.
Court records also noted that Dumas assisted her friend in carrying a large box containing a toy to the cash register to the customer service desk, which her friend presented for a store credit.

A security officer were able to obtain the license plate number as Dumas and her friend entered a car and fled the parking lot, the detective said. Connie Dumas, 42, of Sauk Village, was the alleged getaway driver. There is an active warrant for Connie Dumas’ arrest, according to court records.
The detective said that Dumas, a native of Steger, was picked up by Illinois State Police. She reportedly identified her accomplices, including her mother, reportedly stating, “If I’m going down, they’re going down with me.”

The judge issued a warrant for $20,000.
