Gimme 5: Thunder Swim Captain Griffin Riding the Wave
Tinley Park Thunder swimmer Andrew Griffin enjoys being a senior member of the team, looks forward to completing his high school career, too.
One of three seniors on the Tinley Park Thunder swim team, Andrew Griffin said he is having a ball as the captain of the young Thunder squad, but more importantly, he is enjoying his last summer as a high school student.
"Summer is a great time to bike, run and swim," Griffin said. "I really like doing the triathlon stuff."
And, after a long training session doing any of the three, Griffin likes to unwind with his favorite summer treat.

"I love ice cream," he said. "After a big meet or a tough day of training, it helps cool you off and always tastes good."
Even though Griffin, who is primarily a distance swimmer, loves summer, he is looking forward to his last year in high school and competing for the Tinley Park High School swim team.
