Gimme 5: Tinley Park's Mansanarez More Than a Sand (Volleyball) Man

Juan Mansanarez of the park district's sand volleyball league talks about his favorite movies, books and concerts.

With the Tinley Park Park District's sand volleyball league expanding in size every year, players around town are becoming involved for the competitive play and to take advantage of the summer weather.

Tinley Park's Juan Mansanzarez became involved with the league after word of mouth and some nudging from his friends.

"One of my buddies asked me to come out and play for his team," Mansanarez said. "It's my first year in the league, but I played in a church league with my dad for a few years, so I've played a lot with him."

Mansanarez, 24, works at Jack Gibbons restaurant in between taking a few classes at Moraine Valley Community College. Thus far, he has enjoyed playing in the park district's sand volleyball league.

"I'm interested in playing (in the league) again," he said. "Nice weather and good times."
