Hidden Camera Catches Golf-Club Thief in the Act
The accused, caught after a foot chase in Palos Hills, is suspect of stealing $6,000 in clubs from southwest suburban homes and stores.

A golf-club thief was tripped up by a Palos Hills homeowner’s hidden camera, leading police a man suspected of stealing more than $6,000 in clubs from homes and stores in the southwest suburbs.
A resident of the 11200 block of Southwest Highway called police on Monday and reported that golf clubs valued at $2,100 were stolen from the home, police said in a statement, but he had the theft on video.
That afternoon, about 3:30 p.m., Palos Hills police found a suspicious person in the neighborhood and took him into custody. They identified Mark A. Carter, 26, of Burbank, as their golf club suspect. Carter ran and resisted arrest but was caught after a short chase. Carter faces one count of felony theft, two counts of misdemeanor theft and two counts of resisting an officer.
