Kirby School District 140 Bands Rated Superior at State Band Fest
Symphonic, Concert, and Cadet Bands Turn In Outstanding Performances

Congratulations to Kirby School District 140’s Symphonic, Concert, and Cadet bands for their outstanding performances at the Illinois Grade School Music Association (I.G.S.M.A.) State Band Festival. All three bands earned a top level "Superior" rating from the judges.
"Our Cadet, Concert and Symphonic band members are to be commended for their great performances this past weekend," stated Band Director Raymond Forlenza. "We’re very proud of the students’ accomplishments. Their hard work and preparation definitely paid off."
"A big thank you goes out to our parent and student volunteers who worked tirelessly in various capacities for the two-day event hosted at Prairie View. Without them, we could not have had a such a successful event."

Led by Band Directors Raymond Forlenza, Mark Hodges and Michael Szczasny, the Symphonic, Concert and Cadet bands have 180 members and meet daily before school to practice and prepare for a year-long performance and competition schedule.
