Matt Wilhelm Brings Bike Show to Tinley Park Library

The professional BMX bike rider mixes two-wheel tricks with messages about character and perseverance. Check out how he wowed 'America's Got Talent' judges.

Matt Wilhelm has turned riding his bike into a career, and he'll show off some of the tricks he has perfected in his 12 years as a professional BMX bike rider Friday at the Tinley Park Public Library.

Along with showing off his bike skills, Wilhelm's programs also touch on topics such as bullying, character, perseverance and bike safety. He performs around 300 of these types of programs annually at schools around the Midwest.

  • BMX Championships: Two-time gold medalist in the nationals and a silver medalist at the world championships.
  • X Games: Three-time medalist
  • America's Got Talent: Winner of the NBC TV show's YouTube competition; Season 6 semifinalist.
  • 30 Seconds to Fame: Won the Fox TV show's $25,000 grand prize for being the faster spinner in the world on a bike.
