Orland Park St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store Opening in January

The store will open in its 159th Street location on Jan. 7.

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Chicago opens a new thrift store in Orland Park at 7010 W. 159th St. (formerly Sears Hardware) at 10 a.m. on January 7, 2015.

“Anyone looking for good bargains and a way to give back to their community should look no further than the St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store,” SVdP Chief Executive Officer James D. Lonergan said. “Our Orland Park location will have a powerful impact not only on the people that we work with directly, but also on the larger community as a whole; offering a low-cost, high quality shopping experience as well as employment and volunteer opportunities.”

St. Vincent de Paul is a non-profit organization. All of the proceeds from thrift store sales go directly back into the community to fund the St. Vincent de Paul food pantries and emergency voucher programs.

“Our thrift stores are self-sustaining enterprises and help us provide the basics for human dignity such as food, shelter, and clothing to thousands of people annually. We plan to build six more thrift stores over the next five years so we can better serve the growing number of people who come to us for help,” Lonergan said.

Gently used clothing, shoes, housewares, home décor, books, furniture and much more can be found at low prices in a clean and modern store. Store features include wide shopping aisles, pleasant lighting, and large department signage to help customers find what they need.
