Since late 2014, Reaume has been at the center of a move by the nonpartisan group Plymouth Township Citizens United to recall the supervisor and other elected officials from their positions, according to Ballotpedia.

Wayne County approved the circulation of petitions to recall Reaume, Clerk Nancy Conzelman, Treasurer Ron Edwards and Trustee Kay Arnold were approved by Wayne County, but the group missed its January deadline in order to create a May election, according to HometownLife. This resignation doesn’t come as a surprise to some residents. Reaume sold his house last year and has been renting in the township since then. He also recently purchased a condo in Florida.
