Reckless Homicide Charge For Man Accused Of Driving Drunk In Fatal Tinley Crash
Joseph Vorberg of Oak Forest faces multiple charges after police said he struck a parked car and killed a 20-year-old man from Midlothian.

TINLEY PARK, IL -- Tinley Park police have charged an Oak Forest man with reckless homicide in connection to the fatal traffic crash on Oak Park Avenue early Tuesday morning that claimed the life of a 20-year-old man from Midlothian. Joseph M. Vorberg, 37, of the 15300 block of Arroyo Drive, has also been charged with aggravated DUI — accident/death, driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to give aid/information at an accident, improper lane usage and failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident, police said in a news release issued Wednesday.
Vorberg was the driver of a car that was northbound on Oak Park around 3:30 a.m. when it struck a parked car, police said. The fatal victim was a passenger in the parked car. Vorberg and the person in the driver's seat of the parked car were both hospitalized and released with non life-threatening injuries.
The crash closed Oak Park Avenue, between 171st and 173rd streets, for hours Tuesday morning.
