93 Percent Vote Against Red Light Cameras: Tinley Park Patch Poll
Our question on whether the village of Tinley Park should do away with its red light camera program was met with lopsided results.
TINLEY PARK, IL — As the village of Tinley Park considers dropping its contract with a red light camera company, we've seen opinions shared on both sides of the issue. Some say the cameras do not provide additional safety and should be removed, while others say they do still serve a safety purpose.
But the results of a poll we held on Twitter this week were not close. Some 93 percent of the 185 votes that came in are in favor of getting rid of the red light cameras.
The village currently has three red light cameras at 159th and Harlem, 171st and Harlem and 183rd and Harlem.
