SOUTH HOLLAND -- Last Friday, Senator Hastings served as the commencement speaker at South Suburban College GED graduation ceremony in South Holland, Illinois.
Over 75 students, some in their mid-50's, from the south suburbs fought to overcome challenges to achieve an important milestone in their academic career.
"You've overcome many obstacles in your lives to get to this day," said Sen. Hastings. "You're desire to invest in yourself will provide a great return to you, your family, your future and for our state. I'm extremely proud of you."
