Sports Photo Gallery: Changing of the (Tennis) Guard

Andrew had two sophomores advance in singles play and two seniors move on in doubles competition at the Homewood-Flossmoor boys tennis sectional.

Two sophomores. Two seniors.

Andrew advanced four players in a ceremonial bit of the changing of the T-Bolts guard at the Homewood-Flossmoor boys tennis sectional.

Andrew sophomore Kevin Karczynski defeated fellow T-Bolt sophomore Brian Moy 6-1, 6-1 in the third-place match in singles competition. Both advanced to the IHSA state tournament.

In doubles, Andrew's Orlando Lopez and Greg Faloona moved on with a fourth-place finish. The two seniors helped the T-Bolts nail down a third-place finish in the sectional with 23 points.

Marian Catholic emerged the winner of a tight title race with 26 points. Homewood-Flossmoor placed second with 24. Tinley Park tied for fifth with six points. The Titans' Anthony Eudave and Jimmy Bettenhausen were ousted early in singles play, but both are juniors and showed promise for making a run next season.
