The only thing hotter than the grill was the tenacity of the action in a recent softball doubleheader pitting Homewood-Flossmor vs. Tinley Park.

The Vikings won the first game 4-2 despite a run-scoring double by Tinley Park's Staci Bonezek. Alyssa Gunther added two hits and scored one run.

The Bulldogs rebounded to take Game 2 by a score of 3-2. Gunther went 3-for-4 and had two stolen bases. Bonezek had two hits and two stolen bases. Winning pitcher Stacey Pickrum tossed a five-hitter.
