Sports Video Highlight Reel: Tough Start for Titans
Mother McAuley found the net only 30 seconds into the match and cruised to a 4-0 girls soccer victory over Tinley Park.
The Tinley Park girls soccer team was unable to put the ball in the back of the net as the Titans dropped a 4-0 decision to Mother McAuley in a recent non-conference matchup.
The Mighty Macs' first goal came merely 30 seconds into the match as sophomore Cristina Sperando pounded home the first of her two goals on the afternoon. In the second half, senior defender Kristin Hirtzer scored in the 47th minute with the aid of an awkward bounce off the ground that got past Tinley Park goalkeeper Sammy Wresinski.
Hirtzer struck again 15 minutes later from 25 yards out as Wresinski wasn't able to deflect the shot enough to keep it from making its way into the goal. Sperando finished the scoring in the 67th minute as she headed in a beautiful cross from the right side.

The Titans were able to generate only a few scoring opportunities in the match but weren't able to put any threatening shots on goal.
The McAuley midfield and defense controlled the ball and quickly dashed any run the Titans tried to make. Despite giving up four goals, Wresinski made 15 saves, while senior Chrissy Hermann also turned away many McAuley scoring opportunities on defense.
