Tinley Park, IL: Cloudy skies and a little rain did not stop the golfers on Monday, August 12th, during St. Coletta’s of Illinois Foundation’s 30th Annual Kennedy Golf Invitational at Crystal Tree Golf and Country Club in Orland Park. This event, sponsored by Shirey Cadillac in Oak Lawn, helped raise over $70,000 to support those with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
“St. Coletta’s is such a wonderful organization with amazing programs,” stated Dave Roper, long-time guest of the Kennedy golf event. “I come to this event each year, not only because I love to golf, but because I believe in St. Coletta’s. This day is about helping others succeed.”
Once on the course, golfers competed for a chance to win a 2019 Lexus UX250 at hole 10, sponsored by Lexus of Orland, or a 2020 XT6 Cadillac at hole 15, sponsored by Shirey Cadillac. Hole 12 featured the longest drive competition where guests tried to “Beat the Nun,” Sister Maryann Dosen. Golfers who participated were entered into a raffle to win a Bettinardi putter. The fundraiser was hosted as a tournament with three flights recognized: CDGA Men’s Division, Peoria, and CDGA Women’s Division.
