St. Coletta's Invites you to Grow their "Tree of Possibilities"

Tinley Park, IL: St. Coletta's of Illinois Foundation invites the community to be a part of making dreams possible for adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities by growing the “Tree of Possibilities.” Inspired by a St. Francis of Assisi’s quote, "Start by doing what's necessary; then do what's possible; and suddenly you are doing the impossible," the "Tree of Possibilities" is planting the foundation for today to grow tomorrow's opportunities.

Donors will have the opportunity to choose from four different gift levels that range from $250 to $5,000, and can choose a leaf, stepping-stone, boulder, or dove. This is a wonderful opportunity to recognize each donor with a personalized message on a tree element of their choice. Gifting a tree element is also a meaningful way to honor someone's memory, commemorate a special occasion, or honor a person's life.

Once completed, the "Tree of Possibilities" will be a beautiful wall-mounted metal tree that will be displayed in the main lobby of the Tinley Park administration building. The tree will be a permanent reminder of our generous community. The names and messages will build a legacy of philanthropy at St. Coletta’s of Illinois.

"We are establishing a foundation for our participants to grow and flourish within the community for years to come," states Director of Development Carrie Seida. "As the "Tree of Possibilities" grows, so will the opportunities that will be available for those that we serve to continue achieving what was once never thought possible. We are providing the tools for our participants to lead a meaningful and fulfilling life."

Often daily activities, such as going to work or living independently, can seem out of reach for those with disabilities. It is St. Coletta’s mission to make these events possible. St. Coletta's owns and operates 22 Community Integrated Living Arrangements (CILAs) throughout Cook and Will Counties and is home to over 160 participants where residents are encouraged to live as independently as possible. St. Coletta’s also offers a vocational program that provides employment opportunities for over 180 adults in the community and at the St. Coletta’s workshop program. And for youth ages 3-22, the Kennedy School offers an Illinois State Board of Education approved curriculum, therapeutic and behavioral services, and a full series of classes on transitioning into adulthood.
