One “stopped running” in Tinley Park shortly after the thieves left the dealership, Neubauer said. Three others have since been recovered in the city of Chicago and one in near west suburban Oak Park.

No one has been charged in connection with the thefts, although a village news release indicated this week a specific set of suspects has been identified.

“We are looking at everything as we put the case together and will hold off on anything until we make charges,” Neubauer said.

He would not confirm whether the suspects in the Bettenhausen case are the same ones charged in connection with similar car thefts in other suburbs.
