SWADDLE was founded in 2014 by Kathy Rogers and Kay Keating after they learned of the huge need for assistance to low income families for diapering necessities. SWADDLE is the only local agency that fills the need for diapers. The agencies we partner with are Together We Cope, Respond Now, Catholic Charities Southwest, Pro Labore Deo, and Courage.
Diaper Gap

In Illinois, 23% of children under age 18 live in families earning below the Federal Poverty Level. Buying diapers for these families can be a hardship due to many factors. Yet, food stamps do not cover diapers, day care facilities require disposable diapers and most coin-operated laundries prohibit washing cloth diapers. The need is great and SWADDLE is the only organization in the Chicago dedicated to filling the gap!
