Tinley Man Throws Brick At Muffler Shop, Swipes Camaro: Police
Prosecutor said man threw heavy object at window of muffler shop and stole the owner's Camaro.

TINLEY PARK, IL -- A Tinley Park man is accused of breaking into a muffler shop in February and swiping a car. Brian Phelan, 32, appeared before Cook County Judge Peter Felice charges of possession of a stolen motor vehicle and burglary. Phelan has two other pending cases.
The prosecutor said around 3:43 a.m. Feb. 28, police responded to a burglar alarm at the Midas Muffler Shop at 7011 W. 159th St., Tinley Park. Phelan was reportedly captured on security video throwing an object, possibly a brick or rock, at the window of the muffler shop. He allegedly swiped the shop owner’s Camaro.
Several hours later, the Camaro broke down. The prosecutor said Phelan called for a tow from his own cell phone. A Midas employee identified Phelan in the security video. The towing company driver also identified Phelan, the prosecutor said.
