Tinley Park HS Students Attend Financial Boot Camp

Students had the opportunity to learn the basics of personal finance

Tinley Park High School students, along with counselor Ms. Dori Neven and business teacher Mr. John Richter, recently attended the 4th Annual Financial Literacy Bootcamp at South Suburban College. Through a partnership with Junior Achievement of Chicago and the Career Development System, students had the opportunity to learn about the basics of personal finance. The students participated in five sessions that covered topics related to earnings, saving and investing, budgeting, credit and being savvy consumers. The group received a tour of the SSC campus and attended a student panel where current SSC students shared their college/career experiences. Seniors who attended this event are eligible to apply for Junior Achievement Scholarships ranging from $1,000 - $20,000.
