Tinley Park Man Threatens to Kill Family While Arguing Over Vacation Plans: Cops
His wife was able to text her daughter to call Tinley Park police after he pressed his thumbs on her windpipe, prosecutor said.

TINELY PARK, IL -- A Tinley Park man is accused of strangling and battering his wife. Prosecutors say the provocation started when he and family were arguing about vacation plans.
Robert Delgado, 58, appeared before Cook County Judge Donald Havis on a charge of aggravated domestic battery. According to the charges, Tinley Park police went to the 6500 block of Vogt Street on May 18, where they learned that Delgado had threatened to kill his family the day before while discussing where to go on vacation.
After Delgado threatened to kill his family, his daughter went to spend the night with a friend, the prosecutor said. His wife spent the night in the basement. Delgado went downstairs the next morning where he allegedly put his thumbs on his wife’s windpipe. Police said he pushed her into a chair and choked her a second time. His wife texted her daughter to call police, according to authorities.
