Tinley Park Public Works Director To Retire March 31

Kevin Workowski is a lifelong Tinley Park resident whose entire municipal career has been with the Village.

Tinley Park Public Works Director Kevin Workowski recently announced that he will retire on March 31. Kevin is a lifelong Tinley Park resident whose entire municipal career has been with the Village. Kevin was employed by Underwriter’s Laboratory in plant maintenance from 1982 to 1987. He began his career with the Village as laborer in 1987, moved to laborer/truck driver in 1997 and then maintenance man in 2001.Kevin was promoted to Road and Bridge foreman in 2001 and then superintendent. He also served as a volunteer for the Tinley Park Fire Department for several years. Kevin was promoted to Assistant Public Works Director in 2004 and then Public Works Director in 2016.Due to Kevin's retirement, the Village Board named John Urbanski to the position of Interim Public Works Director. John started working for Public Works in 1999 as a laborer in the Facilities Department. He was promoted to Facilities Foreman in 2006, and then Superintendent in 2013. In 2016, he was promoted to Assistant Director. Many thanks to Kevin for his many years of dedicated service, and congrats to John!

Priscilla Cordero, Business Development Manager: The Village Board appointed Priscilla Cordero to the position of Business Development Manager. Priscilla earned a Bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Illinois, and is a bilingual economic development professional with more than 15 years of experience working with banks, small businesses and communities. Congrats, Priscilla!

Jonathan Brown, Computer Tech: The Village Board appointed Jonathan Brown to the position of Computer Technician. Jonathan is an IT and Network Support professional with more than 15 years of experience. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in information technology, with a concentration in network administration, from Kaplan University. Welcome to the team, Jonathan!
