Tinley Park Village Responds To Coronavirus
Per Gov. J.B. Pritzker, all community events of 1,000 people or more have been banned in Tinley Park for at least 30 days.

The recent outbreak of COVID-19, also known as the coronavirus, has many people on edge and unsure of what to do next.

Luckily, the Village is well-prepared for events such as this, and public safety is of paramount importance. The state-accredited Tinley Park Emergency Management Agency has been monitoring state and federal agencies regarding COVID-19, and is in constant contact with Tinley Park schools, churches, park district, library and other community organizations to make sure everyone is informed and working in unison. Social distancing, hand washing and staying informed will all go a long way in helping everyone weather the storm.
Per Gov. J.B. Pritzker, all community events of 1,000 people or more have been banned in Tinley Park for at least 30 days. The Village also is recommending that public or private gatherings of 250 people or more be cancelled or rescheduled. Residents are encouraged to use alternate methods for conducting Village business to support social distancing. As of Friday, March 13, the following events or locations have been closed/cancelled:

- The Tinley Park Convention Center canceled this weekend’s Reptile Show.
- The Village’s Photos with the Bunny event in April has been canceled.
- The Tinley Park Senior Center is closed until further notice.
- The Tinley Park Park District will close Monday, March 16.
- Tinley Park Public Library will close Monday, March 16.
- School districts 228, 230, 140 and 146 will be closed effective Monday, March 16. Per Gov. Pritzker, all Illinois schools will be closed effective Tuesday, March 17.
