Tinley Trustee Resigns Abruptly
Bernie Brady was appointed to the board in August, to fill the seat formerly held by now-Mayor Dave Seaman.

Trustee Bernard E. Brady on Tuesday announced his resignation from the Tinley Park Village Board in a letter to Mayor Dave Seaman. Brady was appointed trustee in August following an extensive search to fill the position formerly held by Seaman, who became mayor after the resignation of former Mayor Ed Zabrocki in June.
“I thank you and the board for the opportunity to serve, and wish you and Tinley Park all the best,” Brady said in his letter.
Since 1992, Brady has practiced as a certified public accountant, forensic accountant and financial consultant at his accounting firm, Bernard E. Brady & Associates, LTD in Tinley Park. From 1982 to 1992 he served as chief financial officer at Rose Marine Transportation, Inc. in Lemont, and from 1972 to 1982 he was a manager for Arthur Andersen & Co. in Chicago.

“I’m disappointed,” Seaman said. “In the short time he was with us, Bernie proved to be a very intelligent, reasonable and dedicated trustee who consistently put in countless hours of time to make sure he educated himself and fully understood the topics and issues before making a decision. His efforts in creating the internal audit office, a resolution to the water meter issue, and his ethics ordinance update are all programs the board will bring to resolution in the short term. We wish him well and thank him for his service.”
Brady has lived in Tinley Park with his wife, Angela since 1974. He received a bachelor of science degree from St. Joseph College in 1970 and served in the U.S. Army as a sergeant from 1970 to 1972. In addition to being a certified public accountant licensed in Illinois, Brady also is a certified fraud examiner.
