Tinley's McCullough, Jemilo Bring Home State Track Medals

Titan junior Mike McCullough places fourth in 300 hurdles. Teammate Matt Jemilo finishes sixth in the 800 meters.

Tinley Park's Mike McCullough and Matt Jemilo each won medals in individual events in the Class 2A boys state track and field meet on Saturday at O'Brien Stadium in Charleston.

McCullough, a junior, placed fourth in the 300-meter low hurdles. He was clocked in 38.92 seconds. Brandon Lindley of Peoria won the event with a time of 38.67.

Jemilo, a senior, placed sixth in the 800 meters. He was clocked in 1:57.13. Michael Simon of Springfield won the event with a Class 2A record time of 1:55.82.

Jemilo and McCullough combined to score 10 points for the Titans, who tied for 30th place in the team standings. Cahokia won the Class 2A state championship with 62 points.
