Andrew High School Winter Percussion were honored with an assembly for its gold medal at the World Championships.
The group had earned three Silver Medals leading up to this year's Gold Medal performance. The 28-member ensemble had considered this a rebuilding year with half of its members being new and many of them playing instruments other than their primary focus.
School Board President Rick Nogal and board members Susan Dalton, Melissa Gracias and Tony Serratore were on-hand to celebrate along with Superintendent Dr. James M. Gay, Principal Robert Nolting and the Andrew student body.
Andrew Percussion performed the World Championship show "Let It Rain" under the direction of Alan Barone, John Kelly and Mike Zuziak.
