• Cernovich Salvage Yard Fire Ruled Accidental with Failed Liquid Fuel Tanks Hindering Fire Fighting Efforts (regionalmedianews.com) — Toulon firefighters were among several area departments called to help battle a massive blaze at Cernovich’s Auto & Truck Wrecking in Kewanee, which destroyed the building but caused no injuries. Investigators say the fire appears accidental, worsened by failed liquid fuel tanks that sent heavy black smoke over the area and complicated the eight-hour firefight.
