2016 PGA of America National Award Winner Dennis Johnsen Honored at the 100th PGA Annual Meeting
Recipients recognized for career accomplishments at the Grand Hyatt in New York City

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – PGA Youth Development Award Winner Dennis Johnsen headlined an impressive contingent of PGA of America National Award recipients who were honored at the 100th PGA Annual Meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 9, at the Grand Hyatt in New York City. The event was emceed by Golf Channel Host Dave Marr III.
Johnsen, General Manager and PGA Head Professional at the Pine Meadow Golf Club in Mundelein, Illinois, is the recipient of the 2016 PGA Youth Player Development Award, an honor that recognizes a Professional who has displayed extraordinary and exemplary contribution and achievement in the area of youth player development in golf. Johnsen, a PGA member for 40 years, also serves on the PGA of America’s Youth Player Development Committee and as Chairman of the Illinois Player Development Sub-Committee for PGA Junior League Golf. Pine Meadow was one of two courses that pioneered the team golf concept in Illinois for youth, which now includes roughly 185 teams throughout the state today. The 2010 PGA Merchandiser of the Year for Public Facilities and a Past President of the Illinois PGA Section (2003, 2004), Johnsen has also been recognized by the Section with their Golf Professional of the Year (1999, 2001), Distinguished Service Award (2004), President’s Plaque (2007, 2009), Merchandiser of the Year for Public Facilities (2008) and Youth Player Development (2015) Awards.
