79 Cents? Yes, Really! Perry’s Flashback Friday Returns Bigger and Better in Chicago

Perry’s Steakhouse & Grille is bringing back its #FlashbackFriday celebration with two 79-cent Friday lunch favorites, a nod to 1979, the year Perry’s first opened as a modest butcher shop in Houston.

This year, Perry’s in the Chicago Market is making the tradition bigger, extending the celebration to 200 guests with two 79-cent favorites: its Famous Pork Chop Friday Lunch or the new Caramelized Prime Rib Steak Sandwich, with 100 of each dish offered.

The event's expanded celebration reflects how Perry’s Friday lunch tradition continues to grow. While the Famous Pork Chop Friday Lunch has been a guest favorite for more than two decades, the Caramelized Prime Rib Steak Sandwich offers a new way to experience one of Perry’s signature meals.

“Friday lunch has been a big part of Perry’s story, and we are thrilled to serve guests who join us weekly to enjoy our Famous Pork Chop,” said Chris Perry, president and owner of Perry’s Restaurants. “Flashback Friday gives us a chance to have a little fun with that tradition and show appreciation to our guests who love our Pork Chop. This year, we’re doubling the number of guests who can take part and bringing a new Friday lunch favorite into the 79-cent celebration as a thank you for their continued loyalty.”

The secret celebration date will be revealed exclusively on Perry’s social media soon. On the big day, doors will open at 10:30 a.m., with the first 200 guests in line receiving a special card; 100 redeemable for the Famous Pork Chop Friday Lunch and 100 redeemable for the Caramelized Prime Rib Steak Sandwich. Cards will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis while quantities of each remain.

The two 79-cent offerings include the Famous Pork Chop Friday Lunch, featuring Perry’s Famous Pork Chop (Lunch Cut), whipped potatoes, homemade applesauce, and freshly baked bread, or the Caramelized Prime Rib Steak Sandwich, served with French fries and horseradish cream - a new addition that has quickly become a Friday lunch favorite. With 100 of each meal available, guests’ selection will be fulfilled while quantities of each card remain.

The Caramelized Prime Rib Steak Sandwich brings a new take on one of Perry’s signature preparations to the Friday lunch menu. A twist on the classic, it is pecan-wood fired, then crusted and caramelized to order. It joins the Perry’s Famous Pork Chop, a signature for more than four decades, that is rubbed with a secret blend of seasonings, cured, roasted, slow smoked and caramelized, all before being finished in the oven and topped with Perry’s herb-garlic butter.

For the #FlashbackFriday celebration, guests must be 21 or older to be eligible for one of the 79-cent meals. This promotion is available for dine-in only, and on a first come, first serve basis to the first 200 guests in line when Perry’s opens at 10:30 a.m. on the event day.

Guests who miss the Flashback Friday celebration can still enjoy both featured dishes during Perry’s Friday lunch service, available from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The full lunch and dinner menus are available during lunch service, while the chop’s table-carving presentation is reserved for Perry’s dinner service only.
