• Libertyville Community High School District 128's enrollment rank decreases in 2024-25 (lakecountygazette.com) — Libertyville High School District 128, headquartered in Vernon Hills, now ranks 126th statewide with 3,154 students, down from 121st last year. The report, based on state data, also shows Hawthorn District 73 in Vernon Hills among Illinois’ 200 largest districts as overall K‑12 enrollment continues to decline across the state.    

• Weber, Thomas help represent the ladies at Lake County Shootout (dailyherald.com) — Vernon Hills senior Keira Thomas was one of just four girls to play in the Lake County Senior Shootout, finishing runner-up in the three-point contest while sharing the court with boys all-stars. Vernon Hills’ Hawthorn Middle School North also earned statewide recognition for sportsmanship and will be honored at an IESA ceremony later this month.
