Hawthorn Mall Investing $5M In Interior Upgrades As Part Of Larger Revamp
The Vernon Hills shopping center is updating common areas and amenities, officials said.
Hawthorn Mall in Vernon Hills is undergoing a $5 million interior renovation as part of a broader effort to reinvent the shopping center and attract more visitors.
The upgrades include refreshed common areas, new seating, improved lighting, updated restrooms and other enhancements designed to create a more welcoming experience, according to the Daily Herald. The investment comes as mall owners work to shift from traditional retail toward a mix of shopping, dining, entertainment and community-focused spaces.
Officials say the improvements are part of a long-term plan to keep Hawthorn Mall competitive in a changing retail landscape.
