Mundelein Park District Hosts ‘Eggsceptional’ Events

Mark your calendar for these upcoming egg hunts.

From Mundelein Parks: Spring into the season with hoppin’ fun at egg-citing events for both little and big kids at Mundelein Park & Recreation District (www.mundeleinparks.org). FOR THE LITTLE ONES: Children ages 2 to 7, hop on over to Mundelein Park District for the FREE Egg Hunt Egg-Stravaganza on Friday, April 19. 10,000 colorful plastic eggs will blanket the ground at Community Park (1401 N. Midlothian Road). Kids collect the eggs in different age groups beginning at 10 am sharp. Two to three year olds begin at 10 am; four to five year olds begin at 10:15 am and six to seven year olds begin at 10:30 am. After the hunt, hop on down to pictures with the bunny in front of our festive photo backdrop. With Eggstra-Special Partner NorthShore University HealthSystem, Mundelein Park & Recreation District continues to host this spring tradition at no cost to the public, and will again include a mini petting zoo where you can pet real bunnies! Bring along a basket or bag to hold eggs and dress for the weather.

Adult supervision is required andno registration needed. Rain date: Saturday, April 20. FOR THE BIG KIDS: Big kids enjoy a good egg hunt just as much as little ones, but can handle a bigger challenge–darkness. Bring your flashlight, a bag or basket to collect eggs, and your appetite for pizza to Flashlight Egg Scramble (ages 8 to 11) on Thursday, April 18, 7- 8:30 pm at the Dunbar Recreation Center (888 Dunbar Road). Cost is $12 for Mundelein residents ($15 non-resident). Register online at www.mundeleinparks.org/egghunt2019 or come in to the Community Center at 1401 N.
