Rain, Cold Don't Stop Vernon Hills Homecoming Parade

The rain and cold didn't dampen the spirits of those who participated in the Vernon Hills High School Homecoming Parade Oct. 4.

Students on the various floats cheered and passed out candy to the crowds gathered along the road.

Here's a look at the Homecoming events still to come this week:

• The Vernon Hills High School Cougars will take on North Chicago in the varsity football game at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 5. The sophomore game is slated for 5 p.m.

• The Homecoming Dance will be held at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 6.
