Vernon Hills HS FBLA Students Recognized at National Leadership Conference - 2018
The Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) National Leadership Conference was held in Baltimore, Maryland, June 28 through July 1, 2018. This year's theme was Elevate Your Future. More than 9,600 future business leaders attended the conference, competed in leadership events, shared successes, and learned new ideas about shaping their careers through workshops, motivational speakers, and exhibits. This four-day
conference is considered the pinnacle of the FBLA-PBL experience. This year, Vernon Hills High School had 21 National Competitors. The club has 112 members.
One team and three individuals from Vernon Hills High School received national recognition at the FBLA Awards of Excellence Program on July 1. Rachel Chung and Sara Weisblatt competed in Hospitality Management and brought home sixth place. Thomas Florian competed in Help Desk and brought home ninth place. Daniel Zhuang competed in Cyber Security and brought home eighth place. Anmol Parande competed in Management Information System and brought home third place. The
award was part of a comprehensive national competitive events program sponsored by FBLA-PBL that recognizes and rewards excellence in a broad range of business and career-related areas.
Other competitors from Vernon Hills High School included: Ria Subramanian and Vivian Tsai – Broadcast Journalism; Rohet Chitikela, Benjamin Gorashchenko and Sujay Voleti – Business Plan; Tanya Bhargava and Arshiya Waghela – Digital Video Production; Gina Liu and Rithva Ramesh – E-Business; Nikhil Mangtani – Emerging Business Issues; Eric Song – Introduction to Business Communication; Neel Choudhary – Mobile Application Development; Sohan Barot – Political Science;
Robert Jacobson – Political Science; Theodore Chen – Organizational Leadership and Sebastian Domenech – Sales Presentation.

FBLA club advisers are Tony Isabelli, Lynne Benson and Diane Phillips. "I am very proud of all of our
national competitors. Everyone did a great job in their competition event. Students networked with FBLA members from across the United States plus a group from China. Way to go Vernon Hills High School FBLA!" said Diane Phillips.
