The 2014-15 Vernon Hill's capital projects list currently calls for a $3.5 million remodeling of the village's police headquarters to update the facility, which was originally built in 1992, according to the Daily Herald.
Among the proposed changes, the police station is in need of a bigger woman's locker room and bathroom to accommodate the number of female staffers—eight officers and 12 telecommunicators—currently working for the department; and also is in need of fixes to the roof and heating and air-conditioning systems, according to the article.
