Vernon Hills Toy Company Wins $10M Tariff Refund After Supreme Court Ruling
The decision reverses Trump-era import tariffs that drove up costs, threatened its business model, according to reports.
VERNON HILLS, IL — A Vernon Hills-based toy company, Learning Resources, has received more than $10 million in refunds after winning a legal challenge over tariffs imposed during President Donald Trump’s administration.
The company had argued the tariffs on imported educational toys from China severely increased costs and threatened its business, eventually taking the case to the U.S. Supreme Court. The court ruled in its favor, striking down the tariffs and paving the way for repayment with interest, according to ABC 7 Chicago.
The court filing showed that more than $20 billion in tariff refunds have been sent out so far by the Trump administration, according to the ABC 7 Chicago.
