Vernon Hills Woman Accused of Pimping Women at Massage Parlor

A 53-year-old Vernon Hills woman has been charged with promoting prostitution after an undercover sting in unincorporated Deerfield.

DEERFIELD, IL - A 53-year-old Vernon Hills woman has been accused of forcing two women into prostitution at a physical therapy business in unincorporated Deerfield.

Yuhua Fan, 53 manipulated and coerced a 28-year-old woman and 47-year-old woman into prostitution at the Accupressure Physical Therapy location in the 1000 block of North Milwaukee Avenue after an undercover prostitution sting there on sept. 28, according to a news release from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. Fan was charged with one felony count of promoting prostitution in addition to three misdemeanors: keeping a place of prostitution, pimping and maintaining a public nuisance.

The 28-year-old victim was one of the “employees” of the business, while the 47-year-old victim was found after a thorough investigation be the sheriff’s office.

“Both women came to the Chicagoland area approximately two months ago,” according to the news release. “The victims believed they were going to be employed as masseuses, and had no intention of engaging in prostitution. They were both forced into prostitution by Fan, under intimidation of becoming unemployed and homeless.”

The Lake County Sheriff’s Gang Task Force and Cook County Sheriff Sex Trafficking Unit found a safe shelter for both women.

“I’ve said many times that prostitution is not a victimless crime, and this is yet another example which proves just that,” Lake County Sheriff Mark Curran said. “Human trafficking and juvenile sex trafficking go hand-in-hand with prostitution, crimes we will vigorously investigate.”

Bail for Fan was set at $50,000, which she posted the day of her arrest.
