VHHS FCCLA Members Qualify for State Competition

Five members of the Vernon Hills High School Family Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) club qualified for state at the regional competition on Friday, Feb 19. At the regional competition, Mandy Gilchrist and Daisey Castillo both received gold in Apparel Construction; Lauren DiPietro received a gold in Food Production - Relish Tray; and Amanda Varela and Milen Aguilar received silver in Pastry Arts - Cookie Decorating. The state competition will be held April 7-9 in Springfield.

FCCLA is a nonprofit national career and technical student organization for young women and men in Family and Consumer Sciences education. The VHHS club is sponsored by Kelley Whitescarver and Kristin Johnson.
