VHHS Seniors Honored by Local SAR and DAR Chapters

Vernon Hills High School seniors Kurt Wickboldt and Allison Tran were recently named recipients of the 2013 SAR and DAR Good Citizen Awards. 

Tran was honored by the Ansel Brainerd Cook Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. VHHS teachers voted for members of the senior class who demonstrated the following qualities: 

• Dependability (truthfulness, loyalty, punctuality)
• Service (cooperation, courtesy, consideration of others)
• Leadership (personality, self-control, ability to assume responsibility)
• Patriotism (unselfish interest in family, school, community, nation)

Similarly, Wickboldt was honored by the Sons of the American Revolution Chapter as a senior who has demonstrated outstanding good citizenship at VHHS. The emphasis is placed on patriotism and citizenship demonstrated at school, and the award is also determined by a vote by the VHHS faculty.
