UPDATE: Village Waives Outstanding Fees
Village officials are hoping the Vernon Hills Athletic Association will start paying back some of the $15,000 officials say it owes the village.
UPDATE: Vernon Hills officials said the fees have been waived the and the Vernon Hills Athletic Association the debts referenced below are not outstanding. The fees were waived in June.

Village of Vernon Hills officials say the Vernon Hills Athletic Association owes the village more than $15,000 for lighting and other costs, the Chicago Tribune reports.
Officials say the funds were $12,400 for sports lighting for the past two years, and $1,500 to $5,000 for concession costs. While the Athletic Association is not part of the village, it does rent the village's facilities and is supposed to pay the community a portion of concession sales made during games. Village officials are hoping to work out a payment plan with the organization for the funds.
