Village Of Vernon Hills: Safety In The Streets

See the latest announcement from Village of Vernon Hills.

July 21, 2021

As summer brings all of us outside, we encourage everyone to be extra careful in our streets and on our sidewalks and bike paths. While our neighborhoods are extremely safe, playing in the streets is dangerous, especially for young children who are difficult to see as vehicles move through our Village.Β

(There is actually a Village Ordinance that addresses toy vehicles in the roadway – see the end of this article.)

Please use care and be aware. Please don’t use streets as a play area – whether for toy vehicles, impromptu baseball games or anything else that could put you or your children in harm’s way. Share the paths and sidewalks with others. Enjoy our parks and green spaces. Look out for each other. Make sure we all stay safe and have fun this summer. Thanks!
