Want to Chew Gum in School? That Will Cost You!
Hawthorn Middle North students can pay Friday for the privilege of chewing gum in class.

Would you pay money for the opportunity to skirt a rule for the day?
At Hawthorn Middle School North, students will mark Charitable Bubble Gum Day on Friday with a charity fundraiser.
Students who donate 50 cents will be permitted to chew gum for the day. The donations will benefit Misericordia Heart of Mercy, which provides a range of services for people with developmental disabilities.
