• Driver gets out of SUV uninjured after crashing into pond, leaving vehicle mostly submerged in Volo (lakemchenryscanner.com) — An early-morning crash sent an SUV into a retention pond near Ellis Drive and Richard Brown Boulevard in Volo, but the driver escaped uninjured before rescuers arrived. Wauconda Fire District crews, along with regional dive teams, responded, removed the mostly submerged vehicle, and used the incident to remind Volo drivers to stay alert and avoid fatigue behind the wheel.
