• Lake County forest preserve creating ‘wildlife corridor' with $1.5 million purchase (dailyherald.com) — A planned 1.25-acre expansion of Lakewood Forest Preserve in Wauconda is moving forward as part of a larger $155 million bond-funded effort to link natural areas. Alongside a bigger 37-acre purchase near Antioch, the project aims to create wildlife corridors, improve stormwater management, and expand recreation opportunities for Lake County residents, including those in Wauconda. 
• Football roundup: Stevenson, Elk Grove, Lakes, Carmel each collect third win of season (dailyherald.com) — Wauconda’s perfect football season ended in a tight 27-25 loss to Grant, despite standout rushing and multiple touchdowns from Bulldogs playmakers. The wider roundup also tracks other Lake County teams clinching playoff eligibility, but Wauconda fans will be most focused on how a late field goal and a bad punt snap swung this one away.
