Sheriff's investigators say evidence tied a red GMC Sierra pickup to the scene, leading to felony charges for leaving a fatal crash and obstructing justice while the investigation into the incident continues.

'Left an indelible mark': Family mourns death of Waukegan father who died while swimming at Illinois Beach State Park (lakemchenryscanner.com) — A Waukegan father, 45-year-old Asdrubal Guifarro Munoz, died after being pulled from Lake Michigan at Illinois Beach State Park on Sept. 6, despite extensive rescue efforts and CPR. Family members remember him as a loving husband and father while investigators say his drowning may have been triggered by a medical event, and relatives have launched a fundraiser to cover funeral costs.
