Ace Hardware in La Grange Park Closes for Repairs After Part of Roof Gives Way

The owner of Ace Hardware in La Grange Park called fire, police and building department officials after a large section of the building’s roof cracked and gave way at about 8:30 a.m. Thursday.

The business at 900 East 31st Street was evacuated, and no injuries were reported, according to the La Grange Park Fire Department.

Building officials and a structural engineer met with the owner to check out the damage, and the owner is evaluating a timeline for reopening after repairs are complete.
