Alleged Aggravated Assault Incident At Spring Rock Park: Police

Western Springs Police received a delayed report of an alleged aggravated assault incident at Spring Rock Park.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL- On March 11, the Western Springs Police Department received a delayed report of an alleged aggravated assault incident that had taken place at about 6:21 p.m. March 10 on the lower level of Spring Rock Park located adjacent to the 4600 block of Central Avenue in Western Springs.

According to a release from the police department, a group of three 14 year-old males were walking in
the vicinity of a parking lot located in the southwest corner of Spring Rock Park at which time they encountered an unknown blue or black sedan containing several occupants.

The report states that a male, white passenger in the front seat of the vehicle allegedly pointed what appeared to be a black handgun at one of the youths who was approximately 20 feet from the offender’s vehicle.

The complainant also reported that the offender shouted, “Get back,” while pointing the alleged weapon at him. The three victim youths fled the area without further contact or incident and three unidentified occupants from the offending vehicle exited and were last seen walking westbound in the park towards the 47th Street and Tri-State tollway underpass.

The front seat passenger who allegedly pointed the weapon was described as a male white teenager, 5’8”, medium build, minor facial hair, wearing a dark-colored hoodie with a dark sports jersey over that, bearing the number “12” in white print.
