Students who walk to school and home should look both ways before crossing the street, listen to crossing guards and watch for turning vehicles. Be especially alert during bad weather.

Riverside police will conduct extra patrols near schools and in surrounding neighborhoods during the first few weeks of school, according to the Village of Riverside. The Riverside Police department will also increase traffic enforcement activities in school speed zones.
