With the Easter holiday behind us, it’s time to start planning for the next holiday… Mother’s Day. If you’re fortunate to have a wonderful mom or wife (or both), you’ll want to do something extra special that will make an impact.

Β atΒ 4471 Lawn Avenue in Western Springs may be the perfect option. Not usually open on Sundays, Vie will be open for Mother’s Day with anΒ incredibly creativeΒ Mother’s Day menu.

If you haven’t heard by now, Western Springs is lucky enough to have a culinary celebrity in our neighborhood. Paul Virant, chef and owner of Vie, is considered as one of the best chefs in Chicago. He has won a slew of awards and was also featured in 2009 on The Food Network’s Iron Chef America, against the notorious Chef Morimoto.

For first time patrons, this is a fantastic opportunity to dine at a highly rated restaurant, and really, isn’t Mom worth at least that?

The Mother’s Day menu will feature a First Course, EntrΓ©e and Dessert. Three courses will also be offered on the Teenage/Kids menu all at a fixed price whichΒ will include a beverage from the β€œSpecial Drink Menu."

For starters, try the Crispy Parisenne Gnocchi, prepared with wood grilled asparagus, dill butter and feta. How can you go wrong with the Grilled Steak paired with a potato puree and arugula, as your entrΓ©e? All ingredients are of the highest quality and always seasonal.

Kids can choose from the Vie Burger or Ricotta Ravioli in a tomato crème fraiche. Leave room for dessert because you will not want to miss the Brown Butter Profiterole with a butterscotch pastry cream and caramelized bananas. Chocolate lovers will be in heaven when they taste the Chocolate Buttermilk Cake in a dark chocolate mousse and milk chocolate hot fudge.
